One of Florida’s best secret diving locations is the Blue Heron Bride or Phil Foster Park. The location was chosen in 2013 as the best dive site in the world by PADI’s dive magazine Sport Diver magazine.
The park is a small island, so that you can enter the dive location in two ways. The first location is on the southwest corner near the concrete retaining wall. The second entry is at the park’s island in the southwest corner, next to the concrete column supporting the bridge.
This prime location holds an abundance of marine life. The underwater landscape contains several sunken shopping carts, two mini wrecks, and three hammerhead shark statues. The water depths reach 6-25ft, making the dive location beginner-friendly. In addition, you divinity need to look at the tide schedule. The tide can be intense at any time, so you must schedule a dive correctly. Please check to local tide schedule. Also, be sure to trail a floating dive flag and carry a sharp knife in case of line entanglements.
